Mohair takes its name from Ankara. We gave it a single task: to stand before the sound and let it through.Tiftik, adını Ankara'dan alır. Biz ona tek bir görev verdik: sesin önünde durmak ve sesi geçirmek.

A cover sits where the music leaves the speaker. Ours is woven open, tensioned evenly and measured on the speaker it will live on, so that what reaches you is what the engineers intended. Each cover is measured after it is tensioned, on the speaker, in front of the drivers: sound pressure with and without the cover, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The two curves lie on top of each other.     TensioningGerme

    The cloth is drawn onto its frame by hand and brought to an even tension. Tension decides how open the weave stays for the sound, and how the cover will hold its form for years.Kumaş çerçeveye elle çekilir ve eşit gerilime getirilir. Our colours are named after the makams of Turkish music. Each is dyed in the fibre, a mélange of three to five tones that shifts with the light. Every cover Chalemoun makes is entered in the Defter, our ledger: number, makam, fibre, maker, date and curve. Owners may register the entry in their own name, and pass it on. Every five years, or whenever you wish, the cover returns to the atelier. It is re-tensioned, brushed and measured again. The certificate is updated; the Defter entry is renewed. Like a fine instrument, it is kept in tune for as long as you keep it.Beş yılda bir, ya da dilediğinizde, kılıf atölyeye döner. Yeniden gerilir, fırçalanır, yeniden ölçülür.
